The London Symphony Orchestra is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading orchestras. Its many activities include an energetic and ground-breaking education and community programme, a record company, and pioneering work in the field of digital music.
Objectives
We were asked to create a website that pushed the organisation forward into their next era. The new website should have a profound effect on their business and increase event attendance, shop purchases and engagement in the LSO’s work.
Our Solution
Crucial to the success of the website was to help the LSO to imagine themselves from the point of view of a visitor. We carried out focus groups with each department, demonstrating how a website visitor could move between each department, overhauling how they viewed website Client Relationship Management.
We then designed a website to facilitate movement around the LSO’s activities, and help each website visitor to understand both the passion that drives the organisation, and the wealth of opportunities that the LSO has to offer.
The ‘Video’ section brings together the masses of rich media uploaded to the website. This interactive, searchable area allows the visitor to explore the LSO by ‘experience’, pushing visitors outside their safety area and discovering education activities or new CDs that they might otherwise not have found.
The overall effect is designed to radically increase engagement, and crucially, spend-per-visitor to deliver outstanding return-on-investment.
